His WHY is Trust.

Interviewed by WHY Institute Founder Dr. Gary Sanchez (Better Way).

Meet Alan Stein Jr.

Alan Stein, Jr. teaches proven strategies to improve organizational performance, create effective leadership, increase team cohesion and collaboration.  He also teaches how to develop winning mindsets, rituals, and routines.  He is a successful business owner and veteran basketball performance coach. Alan spent 15 years working with the highest-performing athletes on the planet (including NBA superstars Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and Kobe Bryant).  Through this experience, he learned how to respect the basics while still improving your skills.  He knew when his time playing basketball would be over when he graduated college.  However, he still felt a connection to the game.  This was the beginning of his coaching career.

Respect the Basics

There are basic rules for every profession, sport, or hobby.  In basketball, this would be footwork, technique, form, etc.  Alan believes committing to these foundations and building upon them is the key to success.  However, today’s society is all about finding easier, faster, or better ways to do things.  According to Alan, straying from the fundamentals could be a big mistake.  It’s important to have a solid foundation before advancing to the next level.

Building on the Foundations

In his corporate keynote programs and workshops, Alan reveals how to utilize the same approaches in business that elite athletes use to perform at a world-class level. He delivers practical lessons that can be implemented immediately.   Alan believes that once you have learned to respect the basics and developed your skills, it’s not a matter of if you’ll be successful but when.  He shares that his entire life, personally and professionally, revolves around maximizing performance and happiness!
